Our Story

Since its reinstatement in 2016 after a 40-year hiatus, Erie Police Athletic/Activities League (PAL) restarted in one school with two officers and 35 students. Today, PAL involves 120 officers from ten law enforcement agencies, reaching 1,700 students in 27 schools and community centers.

Our Mission

Inspire Erie’s youth to realize their full potential.

Our Vision

Through athletics and activities, Erie PAL strengthens bonds between officers and Erie’s youth, helping to develop mutual respect, reduce crime, build character, and improve educational opportunities for our children.

The Cop-Kid Relationship

PAL aims to break down barriers and unlock the “cop-kid” relationship through honest conversations, team-building, field trips, after-school programs, and summer camps– all at no cost to the student’s family.

Measuring Our Success

80%

of PAL students improved their grades as officers tutor students and track progress to ensure they improve each academic quarter.

78%

of PAL students reduced their absences while being involved with and mentored through the PAL program.

81%
